ch
wave
Waves are a movement of energy traveling through air, water or any other liquid or solid matter. In nature it is caused by the wind, friction from continents, the sun and the moon.
The singing bowl interact against the mallet creating vibration. Sound is produced when an object vibrates, creating a pressure wave.
WAVE is the first Machine Sound Healer created by ch.
Form
The singing bowls are arranged from large to small to large. Giving visual balance, yet movement with gradual changes. The pure white mallets help draw a curved line, accenting the outline shape of the bowls. The stainless steel structure and arms dives behind the scene, but each detail ripples from the original shape of the bowls creating a harmonious form.
Components
The major components of the art piece includes, 7 white crystal singing bowls (in C Scale), stainless steel arms forming a structure to carry the bowls, mallets and motors. Lastly a base compartment for electronics with metal pipes that brings the wiring across the piece.
Technology
Sensor and algorithm development. Working with a local weather stations we collect live data from the environment such as temperature, rainfall, wind speed and humidity. The data will be transferred into our server and our algorithm translate the data into commands controlling the motors. Transforming environmental data into a sound composition.
